synchronization of the “Desktop” and “Documents”

Hello!

I disabled the synchronization of the “Desktop” and “Documents” folders with iCloud on my Mac. After that, these folders remained empty in iCloud Drive, and when I delete them, they reappear automatically after some time. What can I do to completely get rid of the empty system “Desktop” and “Documents” folders in iCloud? Is there a way to prevent their automatic restoration without disabling iCloud entirely on my device?

Thank you in advance for your help!
