Accidentally added money to Apple ID account instead of apple cash

I added money to my Apple ID account instead of adding to my wallet. How do I get the money refunded to the debit card i used?

First: Officially once funds are added to your account, they are generally non-refundable.

However humans make mistakes; and Apple’s similar-sounding naming conventions certainly don’t help in this regard.

Furthermore, Apple does not want to jack-around their customers.

So … contact Official Apple Support; explain your understandable human error, and request a “one-time / good-faith“ refund.

Normally once funds are in Apple Account balance the only way to get them out again is to spend them, or ask Apple to keep them.

There are posts (e.g., https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255051339?answerId=260378733022#260378733022 ) claiming that if funds were transferred from Apple Cash or a bank account, Apple might grant a reversal request of the original transfer back to the originating account. This is not mentioned in Apple’s documentation (which, if anything, pretty firmly states the opposite about no “return” of funds), so even if Apple might do this on occasion, they are not so obligated.
