So if I choose any of the dynamic wallpapers on Mac OS 26 Tahoe (I choose Tahoe wallpaper as default and also tried same thing with Sonoma Wallpaper) I can't get it to change during the day when I select "Automatic" mode. If I select Light Mode, I get light.. If I select Dark Mode, I get dark.... However If I select "Automatic" mode I get dark again, even tho it is 2pm.. I've also checked location and time, and all that is correct..

FWIW, the dynamic wallpapers change depending on what Appearance theme you have selected. If you are using the Light theme, the wallpaper will be light, Dark theme, dark. You have to set the Appearance theme to "Auto" if you want the wallpaper to change from day to night.

Yes, it's the same thing with me. the Tahoe dynamic wallpaper stays on the light setting for me even though it's set to automatic. It only changes to the dark wallpaper if I actually set dark mode on.
Previous with Sequoia you could keep Appearance as light and set wallpaper to automatic and it would work. I've reported this too.
I see this wallpaper still hasn't been fixed in 26.1
It still stays as what you set it as instead of changing to dark more automatically.
I see it's still not fixed on Tahoe 26.2, so looks like it's something that's probably not going to be fixed and work like it used to do.
Sorry I don’t know what FWIW is.. that would be bit strange since it didn’t work like that before, also iOS has the option where appearance is set one way and wallpaper another?
also what would be the point of having auto in the wallpaper selection if it doesn’t do anything?
but before dynamic wallpapers changed all the time during the day.. You could tell difference between noon and 4 pm? I am assuming that is how these are suppose to work... Not just flip from light to dark when appearance changes.. new iOS dynamic wallpaper is how Mac OS used to work..
I'm noticing the same behavior. "Auto" and a dynamic wallpaper change the background image but not the system into dark mode. It stays in light mode. I can manually change it... but that defeats the purpose of auto mode

It does do something, it changes from light to dark when the Appearance theme changes. Otherwise it's either light or dark.
