Spectrum-unlocked iPhone 13 still showing as locked

unable to get my esim unlocked, Spectrum (my carrier) says they have unlocked my phone, however it still is showing it is still locked. they are claiming this is an Apple delay not thier fault. has anyone else heard of this 32 hour delay?

Spectrum ( my current provider) stated they have unlocked my phone, however even after 10 hours my phone is still locked. Spectrum states this is due to Apple and it may take up to 2 days for Apple to push the unlocked through their system, is this true? Apple notes state only the carrier can unlock the phone. Any advise on what to do next? This is an iPhone 13

If Spectrum unlocked the phone, it would not show as locked. Frankly, they are being a lot less than honest with you.

By trying to blame the problem on something or someone else, the carrier hopes that you will give up and stop calling.......while they continue to collect income from you every month.

Apple has nothing to do with unlocking a carrier locked phone. They can't lock or unlock the phone, even if they wanted to.

Same song, second verse.

Apple notes state only the carrier can unlock the phone.

That is correct.

Ask to speak to a senior support person at Spectrum. The entry level people that you are talking to now will say just about anything to avoid unlocking a phone, because they know that they will be losing a customer....not something that they want on their performance record.

You don't have an Apple issue. You have a Spectrum issue.

Good luck.

I suppose that Spectrum might want you to do a Reset Network Settings to get the phone to pick up on whatever changes they have made on their end.

Reset iPhone settings to their defaults - Apple Support

However, if that is what they want you to do, they should say so – and not give you some runaround about some supposed 32-hour "Apple delay". Note that if they do have you do this, your phone will forget all Wi-Fi networks and you will need to re-enter passwords for any password-protected networks you use, as you join them again.

Note that if Spectrum has a carrier lock, and has not released it on their side, you could Reset Network Settings until the cows come home, and the lock would not go away. If they have a carrier lock, only they can release it.
