Certain complications not showing up in Apple Watch App

I own an Apple Watch SE 2 (I plan on getting the SE 3) and I decided to upgrade it to watchOS 26. When I did so, many of the complications I used on the Modular face are gone, including the various Weather complications. Did Apple remove these in watchOS26 or is my Watch just being weird?

For me, both Spotify and Timers are missing as available complications in the iOS 26 watch app. But I was able to add both by editing the face directly from the watch. Long press the face→ Edit→ swipe to Complications→ select the complication slot→ scroll to the desired complication and select.

If your issue is specifically "Certain complications not showing up in Apple Watch App". Dealing with the new iOS 26 Version, this is most appropriate place to post rather than having 20 threads with the same title.

How my problem was solved with help from Technical support:

Preface: My exact situation: upgrading from an iPhone 15 Pro (iOS 26) to an iPhone 17 Pro as well as upgrading from an Apple Watch Ultra (watchOS 26) to an Apple Watch Ultra 3. Many Complications did not show up in the Watch app, (Apple Complications as well as third party), although they did show up on the watch itself. After many hours the problem did not go away by itself.

I would only take these steps after waiting a long time to see if they come back by themselves.

  1. Un-paired the watch
  2. Deleted the Watch app from the iPhone. (This does not remove watch backups.)
  3. Reinstalled the Watch app from the App Store.
  4. Re-paired the watch.
  5. Restored from the Original backup made before the upgrade to the new watch.(Not the new backup created from unpairing the new watch)
  6. After this many complications were still not showing up, but more showed up, then gradually more showed up until finally the app reflected what was on the watch, this took about an hour.
  7. Conclusions: this does seem to be some sort of syncing issue. For some reason, the process of syncing complications got hung up. If you have this issue, I would wait, in case it fixes itself. If a few hours go by, I would take the above actions proceeded by patience. Apple Care was very supportive; they shared my iPhone screen; they seemed as shocked by this behavior as I was. My guess is they will change things about the process to avoid this potential procedural glitch in future versions.

NOTE: This was one of the hardest Apple Hardware upgrades I have endured, both the iPhone and Apple Watch had serious issues and both upgrades had to be restarted from scratch.

I reset my new SE 3 but complications still disappear. Continually asks to allow weather to use my location. I’m using info graph with 8 complications and right now and only the phone one is showing. I just looked and now the mail and messages are showing also, but if I lower my wrist they’ll disappear. What is going on Apple??? Oh now my Calendar is back!

I would not try to restore a watch backup to a new model watch and new OS

Unpair it, set up again as new watch, recreate your faces and complications from scratch

You are disproven. Do you honestly think we would be posting here if we didn’t have a problem?

Dah.veed proved that Alarms are not missing from OS26, however they are missing from your watch.

So, un-pair it, then set it up as a new watch without accessing the backup. That should reset the system and allow you to add a new modular face. Keeping backups fromold models old OS to new model new OS os fraught with difficulties.

Your alarms will need to be added again as well as the faces.

I have exactly the same problem. I think it is due to the complications being removed from the application each now and then. When it disappears from the watch, I go back to the Watch app on the iPhone and the complication name is missing also from the availability list. After a few minutes, it reappears in the availability list and I'm able to insert it again on the watch and it appears again. After a while, it disappears again From the watch and so on.

The activity, weather, calendar, reminders, timer and alarms complications are all missing from the Apple Watch app. Also a third-party app called Sundial downloaded to the new watch of the complication is again missing from the Apple Watch app. These are all Apple complications from Apple apps, except one. They are all missing from the face gallery as well as the “my watch” tab in the Watch app. But the watch is working perfectly. So of the eight complications on this face. Battery percentage is available in the Apple Watch app.
