AirPlay won't connect when behind VPN after upgrade to OS Tahoe

Since upgrading to Tahoe, I have found the when Nord VPN is active I am unable to connect to AirPlay. When I turn the VPN off, everything connects as it should.

This is the same on both my MacMini and MacBook.

I could connect with no issue, behind the VPN, before the upgrade.

I have reported this to Nord, who have run various tests and can find nothing wrong, they say!

The only difference is I upgraded the OS.

Anyone else with the same issue?

The better question would be if anyone has NOT had a problem with an installed VPN.


As for Nord saying there is nothing wrong on their end, that seems to be a consistent pattern. You may not remember that they were made aware of a data breach on one of their servers in March 2019, but kept that information hidden until October of that same year and never notified their users. So, much for security.
