Menu bar color not matching desktop in macOS 26 on iMac M1

I have tried toggling the Menu Bar setting on and off but the menu bar never changes from White to the color of the desktop image with macOS 26 on iMac M1.

Make sure System Settings > Accessibility > Display > Reduce transparency is disabled.

Not that many options...


Settings>Menu bar

Settings >Appearance


A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
