Face ID won’t detect my face after iOS 26 update on iPhone 13

Hello

I have a problem with the face ID on my iphone 13, since the ios 26 update, the face ID no longer detects my face when I try to configure it.

I removed the screen protector and cleaned the cameras.

I hard rebooted the phone several times.

I have no error messages regarding the TrueDepth camera.

And I reset the iPhone to default settings.

Can you help me please ?

Thanks in advance,

Matmemo

Unfortunately, that usually indicates a hardware problem. Here is some Apple guidance→If Face ID is disabled on your iPhone or iPad Pro - Apple Support

You might also try a factory reset→Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings using a computer - Apple Support

It’s 100% software. You need to wait for new update.

why you jumping to restore/hardware??? Such a pain just saying restore or replace. 90% of issues are software especially when someone mentions that they just updated to a new iOS especially basically still being tested. Many people are having this issue, there are workarounds but main fix will come with new update. Can’t remember the last time a factory reset solved anything.

What are you on about??? I don’t understand why you’d come on here make these claims without a simple google search. Many people are having the same issue since updating to iOS 26, bugs like this are very common in new operating systems and usually get brushed up on the next update, which will be soon seeing the number of people having the same issue. If you’d actually experienced this bug you’d know. It does successfully do the Face ID but instead of opening the Home Screen you get whatever background you have but either have to swipe again for it to work or offer the enter password option again.
if anyone has this issue honestly don’t spend money on it they will update ios26 with a fix or you could follow this great advice and replace your phone or camera. Also a hard reset dosnt fix hardware issues only software mishap. If your hardware is physically damaged a reset won’t matter obviously.

Hello~ Google?? What are you on about???

No, no fix coming, 99% of time it is a failed camera

What am I on about? I am on about 13 years more experienced on this forum than you my friend. 99% or more cases we find in here are failed face ID cameras, particularly on the iphoneX models.

I didn’t suggest restoring the iOS will fix this, but before having it repaired, that would be necessary, so worth the effort, especially when you erroneously suggest this is software.

Same problem on 13 mini right after upgrade to ios26 so it is hard to justify it would be most likely hardware issue. It seems to clear it’s related is upgrade so more prone to software related. Also many experiences the same problem so I think it cannot be more obvious?

Not hard to justify, upgrades place a strain on hardware, billions of bytes of code exchanging in 20 minutes or so. It would be harder to understand how it could fail away from the update cycle. The weak tire is more likely to burst if you race up a mountain than along the boardwalk

Hello! Same issue, after updating to iOS 26 my iphone 13 PRO started to have Face ID issues, until it stopped working. I updated to iOS 26.2, initially Face ID it worked fine for aprox 1 hour then it started to fail again.. at the time writing this its still working but its not reliable.. I was hoping that the new update will fix the problem, but no.

I will try with a complete reset of the phone, maybe this will help.

But i don t see how this is a hardware issue since there are a lot of users affected by the same problem. Even my sister who has a iphone 13 PRO MAX, has the same issue.
