Can Apple Customer Support work with me to get into my phone when I forgot my iPhone passcode?
I changed my passcode last week and stupidly didn't make note of it, so of course, now I have forgotten the updated code and am locked out of my phone (currently in the 8 hour waiting period..ugh). I read somewhere that you can contact Apple support via email and they can work with you to gain access to the device without resetting it. You provide information proving you are who you say you are (the owner of the device) and they access your device from their end, ultimately unlocking the phone and changing/figuring out the passcode. So, my questions:
- Is there any validity to this claim?
- Has anybody been able to email customer support and get this type of help?
- Has anybody who has been in this situation been able to unlock the phone while avoiding the reset?
I have an iPhone 16 and am running the most up-to-date software.
