In Tahoe my desktop widgets have disappeared and notifications don't work.

I upgraded my Mac mini M4 to Tahoe and my desktop widgets disappeared. If I right click the desktop and click on Edit widgets... nothing happens, so I have no way of restoring the widgets. Also notifications don't work. I also noticed that the Tips app and the Weather app crash on launch.

Mac mini, macOS 26.0

I discovered that my wife's profile was working fine so I went into Console Crash Reports and found where the processes were crashing e.g.: ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.notificationcenterui/Data. I just deleted the content of the folder and everything worked fine from then. It's all a bit trial and error I'm afraid.
