Contact is blocked after iOS 26 update; will not let me unblock
After I updated my phone to iOS 26.0, it blocked one of my favorite contacts, someone I text all the time, one of my emergency contacts. I have spent so much time trying to un-block this person that I have never blocked, and nothing is working.
When I click on the contact and click “unblock,” nothing happens; the button doesn’t work. When I go into settings, blocked contacts and delete the block there, the contact is still blocked.
I tried deleting the contact and they were still somehow in my contacts, despite me trying to delete them. I re-added the contact and they were still blocked.
I even reset my network settings because someone said that might help. That did work for about half a day, and then the contact became blocked again!
I turned off “screen unknown callers,” and that did not make a difference.
This was never an issue before this iOS update.
