AirPrint is not working on iPhone and iPad after updating to iOS 26

I can’t use air print any more on my phone or iPad, I updated to 26 and that hasn’t helped, also checked my old phone which is still in 15 and that won’t work either! Help!

I am having the same issue. iPad 13 pro and IPhone 15 pro both upgraded to iOS 26 and now HP printer will not work. Rebooted and reconnected all to WiFi. HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301 [A82674]. Everything worked without a hitch before I upgraded to iOS 26. Both devices recognize printer, but when I hit print nothing happens.

HP seemingly only documents that printer series for use with Windows, though there are lots of variants.

And I find far too many unrelated hits for A82674, unrelated to any 3301-related models.

The HP tech specs do not list AirPrint, nor does the Apple AirPrint printer support article, which is a big problem. That means you are entirely dependent on the availability of HP driver and an HP printing app for those from Apple gear.

There is new firmware for most printers using some variant of 3301 name (3301sdw, 3301fdw, 3301cdw, etc) printer from July 2025. Load that. Either via the control panel, or via the web interface if this is typical HP.

Check with HP for details of whether they support AirPrint here.

DO NOT BUY A PRINTER WITHOUT AIRPRINT.

Sorry, I spoke too soon. This worked!

For others that may have the same trouble... I wasn't able to update the firmware via the Web Server via "check for updates" but by following the instructions on page 3 of this PDF:

https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/product/versalink-c405/content/141113

and downloading the new firmware from this link:

https://download.support.xerox.com/pub/drivers/VLC405/SPs/win10/ar/VLC405_PL8-R10.pdf, it worked.

Your directions pointed me in the right direction to figure this out.

Thanks!

Finally found a solution - took my printer back to factory settings and reinstalled everything and now it works with my Apple devices. I suspect the big upgrade to 26.1 knocked the settings out and you have to start again
At least AirPrint is back working again

Some printers have no means to update their own self-generated certificates, meaning they can present an expired certificate. Among other issues. A network reset (of the printer itself, in the printer) or a full reset (of the printer, on the printer) will usually clear that.

Hello, I have the same issue with my iPhone 17 Pro Max on IOS 26.0.1 : impossible to print via AirPrint on my printer Xerox C405. I can print with all my other devices (iPhone 15 Pro Max on IOS 16, iMac on MacOS 26, ...).

I tried to switch off everything and restart but it doesn't work

Okay, thank you for including the printer model.

Is this VersaLink C405 Color Multifunction Printer running the firmware from early September? Xerox has all sorts of downloads for this printer, and I’m not sure which of the various firmware-related updates listed there are appropriate here, but there is a new service pack (apparently containing firmware?) from September 9th, 2025:

https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/product/versalink-c405/downloads?platform=win10x64&language=en

The printer manual has information on using the embedded web server within the printer to perform a firmware update, and that may be the easiest path to get the right firmware loaded for this printer. See page 200 here:

Yes, have been speaking with the broadband company and Apple and done all the resets suggested, turned phones off and on and the same with the printer and WiFi. I can print from the Epson app and from my laptop just nothing from the Apple products. The printer is an old one but works fine WF2750

Is the Epson WorkForce WF-2750 (and not WF-2750DWF?) firmware current? Version JP24K1, apparently. Maybe newer.

https://download-center.epson.com/softwares/?device_id=WF-2750+Series&region=US&os=MAC1015&language=en

The docs here are atrocious, and the myriad Epson country websites unhelpful, so I’m not quite sure how to update the firmware.

Some of the WorkForce printers have a web interface for managing aspects of the printer, and that seems to be a potential path for updates. Use Safari or another browser, and see if you can access the printer using the printer’s own IP address. The printer control panel can potentially print a network status sheet, with the IP address included there.

since the upgrade to ios 26 i cannot airprint anymore from my iphone 16 pro max.
it is an HP Envy Insipre 7900. i can see it but it doesn’t print, also not working when using the hp app

The printer web interface is described on page 23, and the firmware update info is on page 24: https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07773131.pdf

Connect to the web interface, view the printer settings and firmware version there, and confirm the current version is loaded.

On all iPhones > iOS 26, I can select the “Xerox Versalink 405” printer.

Presumably < iOS 26, not > iOS 26.

And I see a B405, C405, and C405/DN, and don’t know how similar these models are.

I've tried everything without success:
Restarted the printer, reset the network settings on the iPhone.

Have you checked the printer firmware version, and for the Wi-Fi router?

Page 16 of the (picking one of the 405-ish models at random) has the web interface usage documentation, and I’d look around on the web interface for the firmware update.
