Can't I remove more than 10 files from iCloud folder

There's an iCloud folder on Mac and "Keep dowloaded" function. I accidentally clicked "download" and ran out of memory!)) You can't stop downloading process, lord know why but it's impossible even if there're +80 gb that will freez your mac... Try turning down "Sync this Mac" - it DOESN'T help!!! When I turn sync up, after some time, downloading starts once agaaain.

Okay, files download, I want to remove them from mac memory BUT *SPOILER* I literally can't remove more that 10 and it's MADNESS

Now, there're more than 755 files in just 1 folder that I've to remove by dozens..... Well, it's easier to delete the whole folder or buy a portable SSD.

PLEASE do sth about it 😭
