Do third-party browsers require code entry for iCloud Passwords at every launch?

Hello,

I’m using iCloud Passwords with a third-party browser (Brave, sometimes Chrome) and I keep running into the same issue: every time I open the browser, the extension asks me to “enable autofill” and I have to enter my password or verification code again. This is very inconvenient, because in Safari, I can simply use Touch ID and autofill stays enabled without having to re-enter a code each time.

My question is:

  • Is it possible to use iCloud Passwords in a third-party browser (Brave, Chrome, Edge, etc.) with the same convenience as Safari (persistent Touch ID authentication)?

  • Or is this a deliberate limitation of the extension, requiring code entry at every browser launch?

Thanks for clarifying!
