Can I fix these graphical glitches myself?
Hi everyone — I’m hoping someone here can help, or at least point me toward Apple Support.
I love Apple for their attention to detail, so tiny visual issues stand out to me. I could just update to Tahoe, but I’d prefer to keep my aging MacBook on Sequoia to preserve the classic interface that will eventually feel “retro.” That’s why I’m trying to solve these issues rather than upgrade right away.
Below are five graphical problems I’ve been seeing. I’ve included image references (Images 1–8) where relevant.
- Wallpaper / System Settings (Russian and Ukrainian): In System Settings → Wallpaper, text items have no indentation/padding when the system language is Russian or Ukrainian. (Images 1 & 2)
2. Sequoia adds snapping for half/quarter windows, but sometimes the window edges go past the screen bounds — the window is partially off-screen. (Image 3)
3. Lock Screen icon alignment: After powering on the Mac, the question-mark button on the lock screen (a circle with a question mark inside) is shifted up by a few pixels. It looks visually off. (Image 4)
4. Menu bar width when VPN connects: When I connect to a VPN from the menu bar, the menu bar expands and becomes too wide. (Image 5)
5. Safari 26 — tab behavior: After updating Safari to version 26, tabs behave very strangely (see Images 6, 7 & 8).
These are small things individually, but they happen often enough to be really annoying. Several macOS updates haven’t fixed the first four issues. I’ve already tried reinstalling macOS and running countless commands and tweaks — nothing fixed them.
I realize most of these are probably Apple-side bugs, but if anyone here has a workaround (even for just one of those points), I’d be incredibly grateful. Thanks in advance!
P.S. - i am don't know english, sorry for mistakes and thanks ChatGPS for translate
