iPhone 17 Pro Max extremely slow Wi-Fi and unstable.

We have 3 16 Pro Max iPhones in the house, so I have something to compare to. All connect to the Wi-Fi under 6 GHz with expected speed. Connecting my new 17 Pro Max to the same Wi-Fi router, Internet speed is unacceptable. Extremely slow cuts in and out have done everything possible, including a fresh install resetting everything with the same results. I believe that Apple‘s new M1 chip has an issue. Hope it’s not hardware-related. I was on the phone yesterday to an advanced senior tech that agreed the speed was not acceptable. It seems that I cannot connect to 6 GHz no matter what.  Anybody else?

I turned off the iCloud privare relay and my wifi is way more reliable and faster than before. downside is now everyone can see what I do on the internet.

No solution, as far as I'm aware. I've done a lot of looking around online and essentially it seems that the new wifi radio in the 17 series doesn't work very well with some networks that aren't Wifi 6 or 7. It's no better in iOS 26.1, and I've seen nothing to suggest that the iOS 26.2 betas have fixed it.

Mine starts off fine after a restart, but then slows down after a day or so, until I restart the phone again. I have just restarted it again now to sort it out. Each of these speed test results shows the speed before and then directly after a restart, in the same location (my maximum is 150 Mbps, and I'm one room away from the router).

I haven't bothered contacting Apple Support because even if they replace the phone, I suspect the replacement will behave in exactly the same way.

I’m having the same issue. We don’t have the fastest broadband - it’s 150Mbps, and all other devices are working fine, as did my 13 Pro.

My 17 Pro keeps dropping to speeds like 20Mbps. When I restart the phone, it works normally and I get speeds over 100Mbps, but by the end of the day it’s dropped right down again.

This hasn’t been resolved in 26.0.1 and I think I’m going to need to contact Apple about it.

Wife and I just switched over to iPhone 17 Pro recently. Since then we have been experiencing loss of connection while using wireless CarPlay on multiple occasions while driving. It wasn’t an issue with our 15 Pro until the switch (for well over 2 years).

At home the WiFi connection was poor too. Often getting stuck with one AP in our MESH network as we roam around the house. Likewise never an issue with our previous iPhones.

We have 3 older iPhones (1x 13 Pro & 2x 15 Pro) which are still being used. The stark difference in WiFi experience is as glaring as day and night.

Disappointed with the new phone. Failed to deliver even the most basic expectation, merely blowing hot air since its launch.

Yeah, I’m really disappointed. All of my other devices work fine except for the brand new phone. If I restart it, I’ll get full wifi speed, but by the end of the day it’ll have dropped to about 15Mb/s, and only a restart will fix it. I’ve already restarted this phone more times than I did with my old phone during the entire ownership period.

I would like to think it’ll be fixed in 26.1 but I’m not hopeful at all.

My Wife and I upgraded from iPhone 15 pro’s and never had an issue. With the new iPhone 17 pro’s we have unreliable speeds and constant drop outs.

I have spent hours with our isp trying to sort this out, but we believe it is a device hardware issue.

It is unbelievably frustrating. Hoping Apple are looking into a solution or device swap program to sort this.

I just upgraded my Iphone from 15 Pro to 17 Pro this past week. My iphone 17P is upgraded to the latest software update 26.1 and i have noticed a significant difference in internet speed when i am on wifi anywhere home work wherever, it is almost unusable and i cannot sometimes even connect to the speed test on my Chrome browser. I even noticed when setting up my iphone that it wouldn't even connect to my wifi router which is brand new and very fast. I reset everything and I am still facing this issue. If my brand new iphone 17 pro can barely function on wifi anywhere i want to downgrade this is unacceptable for a $1200 phone!

Same issue and no, private relay is not active. I have my 16 pro and my 17 pro max sitting right next to each other on the same Wi-Fi network and run the speed test at the same time. iPhone 17 Pro Max is consistently 4 times slower. Here is the very best result from the 17 Pro Max that I was able to achieve within a few minutes of the average test on the 16 Pro. This is right after restarting the device

My 3rd iPhone 17pro arrives Monday. I really think this is a hardware problem so this is my last attempt before I reject the phone. I’m running on latest software updated this week, have no VPN and have reset countless times. Speed immediately speeds up to acceptable levels circa 300mb in my case and within a few hours is down to 10-12 mb. I’m disappointed Apple won’t admit they have a major issue as this is wasting a lot of time. It’s a business phone and I’m constantly being cut off when WiFi calling.

iPhone 17 Pro Max extremely slow Wi-Fi and unstable.
