AppleCare discount on Belkin screen protector for iPhone Air

I was advised when I picked up my iPhone Air that Belkin hadn't released the screen protector for this phone yet. I was advised by an apple employee to get AppleCare, and then when the screen protector came out, I can get that for a discount. Does anyone know exactly what she was talking about?
