Ripped CDs not syncing into Apple Music app

I've been ripping cd's to my current model mac laptop(s) for years, and they usually show up fine in the music app (once I've synced them thru Finder with my phone plugged in). Lately I'm being told they are uploading to somewhere in icloud, and I can't find them there (WHERE in icloud - there is no music folder). No instructions given on how to retrieve them. Help!
