Column letters covering cells in spreadsheet on iPad

The a,b,c etc cover the cells in my spreadsheet when I am working on it. They are NOT above it. They are OVER it! Literally covering the first row. It’s not on every page. How do I stop this? I realize when I touch a dead space it disappears, but when I go to the cell to make a change, they cover it! I cannot just click on a cell and edit without the letters covering it.

It sounds as if it is a table that accidentally has been dragged up on the sheet until it is partially off the top of the sheet. Grab the "bullseye" at the top left of the table and drag downward until the table is entirely on the sheet.
