Why is Mac OS so slow to download software updates and download content on Safari web browser?

Before anyone asks the questions - Yes I have a good wired and wireless ethernet connection and internet speed (300mb/s plus). My experience for some time (maybe 2 years) on Mac OS (Mac Mini) and also on iOS latest iPad:

  • Downloading software update is incredibly slow frequently pauses and stops with an Apple error stating could not download try again later. Updating to Sequoia took at least two weeks of trying and failing over and over. I've pretty much given up until I get nervous about security updates.

  • On Safari opening almost any new content or starting videos frequently results in a similar thing very slow initial downloads and frequent failures - just stops the page load or content. I recently bought a iPad to do on-line training via video content but it is incredibly frustrating sitting a waiting or refreshing pages over and over. Same thing on so many web sites frequent pauses and stopping of content.

I have used Apple products personally since 1985 because they always just worked well and the ecosystem is great. But past 2-3 years the experience is just going down and down hill - regularly thinking of switching to Windows PC and Android. I use Windows at work and whilst most Windows and related ecosystem stuff is a bit garbage in comparison at least I don't have all these annoying and frequent slowness issues!

What is going on Apple? Your products are starting to frustrate me - instead of delight me!
