Tahoe 26.0.1 MacBook Pro M3 Max - no internet

Hi!

I installed the new Tahoe version yesterday normally. But now browsers and email apps indicate no internet connection. I've tried with Wifi (two different routers) and LAN. Under System Settings --> Network show LAN and Wifi as green. Wifi diagnostics says the connections appear to be functioning normally. I've tried turning the firewall on (and then off), no effect. I've restarted the machine repeatedly, no effect. The MacBook Pro I'm using now (Apple M1 Pro, Sequoia 15.2) engages fine with same LAN and Wifi.

What to try next? Any help/suggestions much appreciated.

Check System Settings->Network

Select the service you are using (Wifi, Ethernet, … ) and click Details…

In particular a green button indicates that the service is connected; not being able to access any sites suggests a possible DNS problem. Select DNS and show us what you see: a grey address is one provided automatically and should work; a black one (or white if using dark mode) iscone entered by the user.

One possible workaround to this issue is to create a new Network Location. In System Settings > Network, click the ••• / down caret at the bottom of the preference pane, then select Locations > Edit locations. Click the (+) button, give the location a name (you can delete it or rename it later), and see if that corrects the issue.
