Is my iPod nano obsolete now that iTunes has gone ?

I have been in love and an owner of various iPod nanos for almost 20 years. I am bereft that they have discontinued both the device and also iTunes. I currently have iTunes on a windows 10 computer but bought a Mac as I already have ipod iPad and iPhone and wanted to make everything simple.

now I find out I cannot install it on my shiny new Mac. My PC is on its last legs so this is a disaster for me.

Is there a way I can use my iPod with the Mac ? I need to be able to transfer music from the Mac to the iPod, and create playlists. Is this no longer possible ? I ‘m beginning to wish I’d never bought the **** thing now. I m 67 and not very “tech” and this was a huge transition for me.
