Save a PDF to Folder in encrypted DMG

8 years ago, I created a private password protected DISK.

Private.dmg

I have read & write access & everyone else has no access.

Format macOS Extended (Journaled)

I have several folders in this Volume.

Recently, I added another new folder & want to D/L some PDFs & save them in this folder.

Cannot do w/o a time consuming work-a-round.

I open the PDF from my D/L folder & try to “export as” & rename & save into my folder inside my Private DMG volume.

Using the upper R search field in the “Export As” window, I get no results when I type the name of the desired destination folder. If I type “private disk” I do get 1 result: “Private Disk.dmg” but, it is greyed out & I cannot click to open it & select the folder I want.

So, I just select desktop and save the exported, renamed new file there, and then I can easily drag it into the desired folder in the private volume. But then I have to delete the version on my desktop and empty the trash in order to keep it private.

This works, but there must be a better way.

Mac Studio, macOS 26.0
