Icons in finder take ages to load

I see the following until they eventually load. This can take 30+ seconds. Meanwhile I see:

I see this on both intel and arm, but it's wayyyyyy worse on intel where the icons take minutes to load.

26.0.1

Anyone else seeing this?

I have the same problem on a MacBook Air M2, updated to Tahoe from Sequoia.

It's so frustrating that a M2 machine can't load instantly a small number of icons!

I noticed this problem also in a brand new M4 MacBookAir updated to Tahoe.

In my computer, the same extremely slow loading issue occurs with the System Settings icons.

I've tried several methods suggested online to speed up the system, but nothing works...

This is completely unacceptable to me, especially since I noticed that this problem doesn't occur on a 2011 MacBook Air, which is more than 10 years older than mine!

The problem also occurs in Safe Mode and, as I said, it is also present on a brand new MacBook Air M4...

The slow loading of the icons in the Applications folder (and in other folders) and the slow loading of the icons of the System Settings' UI, occurs at the first opening and, sometimes, also in some of the subsequent openings during the working session.
