Mmm... Snooze isn't "turning off", it's "snooze". It means "ring alarm again after x minutes". It always required a swipe/tap on screen to turn the alarm off, but it was very easy to "snooze" for another 9 minutes. That's actually the point of snooze - it should be easy. Going back to the old nightstand electronic clock - that was the biggest button on that clock, for a reason.
What is happening now, with iOS 26, is that it makes it very easy to actually turn snooze and alarm OFF, as in "it will not ring again, ever", by pressing the power button to silence it. Thereby defeating the purpose of "snooze" — if I have to open my eyes and look at the screen to take an action — I might as well wake up and get out of bed.
I am not sure who complained about this functionality, but it seems to me that this is one of those fixes that actually made things worse.
I realize we aren't Apple here, but hoping that Apple scans the forums. I don't find it worth opening a ticket with support, and I can't figure out how to submit suggestions to their team.
