Apple TV Android App "Unable to Play" error

I have a Moto Edge 40 & use the Apple TV app, version 2.0.1 (2001002) (11A97)


I'm unable to play tv shows or movies through my app. Even though I might have started them previously they won't play again and only give me the "Unable to Play" error after a few seconds of repeated playtime (no new content, only playing a few seconds I've seen before).


I can download the episode just fine, but playing the downloaded episode gives the same error.


The only workaround I have figured out is to reboot the phone, but this is too tedious to do every time I have to watch something. Anyway, this happens again as soon as use the seek control to move the video backward or forward.
