Can Hello Kitty Adventure's multiplayer feature work between MacBook and iPad on Apple Arcade?

If my friend plays hello kitty adventure on his/her MacBook and i play mine on my ipad, can we still play together using the multiplayer feature? (Meaning both play through apple arcade but from different type of device)
