Pandora displayed continuously without blacking out while listening

For some reason the Pandora display on my iPad will black out while listening. How can I keep it from happening? I like to do the “thumbprint” app and if I like a song I will “thumbs up” the song. But I can’t if it’s not displayed.

It takes too long to get back to Pandora when the display is black!
