audio texts/messages with airpod pro3

Ever since new IOS update and upgrading to airpod pro3 the quality of audio txts/messages have been poor. There seems to be a lot of ambient noice that is being recorded than previous ios+airpod pro 2. Also there are times that things just get garbled or digitized noise during recordings.

Anyone else notice this?

I have the most revent firmware and ios updates, i have unpaired and re-paired my airpods. the microphone is set to automatic during audtio txts (can't seem to choose voice isolation for some reason).

Please let me know if you think this is hardware issue where I should return my airpods or if this is some sort of ios/firmware issue, or other work arounds.
