My Dad got a new iPhone 17 and tried to set up from his old work phone (iPhone XR). He thought the mdm was disabled but it was not and now the iPhone 17 is stuck in start up on the mdm screen. He has retired and the new phone has nothing to do with his old company. We have tried restarting the phone to start the setup again but it keeps going back to the same screen.

If he had MDM on his previous phone and backed it up, the MDM is embedded into the backup. His options are to contact his org and ask them to remove the MDM, or wipe the device and set up as new (not from a backup).

Hey I’m in this exact situation. I was given an iPhone XR a couple years ago, turns out…it’s a company phone. I found this out because when I tried to transfer it to my recently purchased iPhone 13, it’s stuck on MDM. Did you find a solution?
