The choice is yours what you want to do, I thought you wanted the problem solved and you have the ability to test without the VPN by simply removing it. VPN's have been linked to network issues for many years and you can see that easily by using the search button by tapping on the top of the screen and typing VPN. The problems you will find date back long before Tahoe and those users had the issue resolved when the VPN was removed. Some people believe that turning off the VPN is the same as uninstalling it and that is not the case. You cannot rely on reports from others who have turned off the VPN to make the claim that an issue is not due to the VPN being installed.

After everything is working correctly, then you have the choice how you want to proceed.

  • Reinstall VPN. The problem may return or it may have been updated and you installed a newer version where the developer resolved the problem.
  • Wait for the next OS update to see if maybe that resolves the problem.
  • Make the choice on what is more important to you, a VPN that is giving you the problem or a Weather app that is not able to show your current location. The current location panel on the Weather app cannot be removed, so it will just be blank like it is now.

Don't forget that I was able to call out the VPN even when you said you did not have one, only to find out that you have 2 of them installed. Some are not easy to remove, so it is certainly possible that you moved one to the trash and the launch processes still remained, which is why you still see the problem. If you need help with removal to test, we can offer some assistance, or if you don't want to be bothered by seeing if the issue is resolved after VPN removal, that is fine too.

Try removing all VPN's. The blank weather panel appears to be the one for your current location and a VPN will certainly interfere with any network connection to get your current location.

  • DuckDuckGo VPN
  • WireGuard

You can try turning them off, but usually the files installed in your launch folders continue to run and interfere with your network connections whether they are on/off. Another thing you can try is starting up in Safe Mode to see if the results change.

Your EtreCheck report shows otherwise. Since it appears you are missing your current location in the Weather app, the first thing that should be done to test is removing those VPN's that interfere with the network connections. Turning off a VPN is not an option they would have to be uninstalled to test.

It appears both Wireguard and DuckDuckGo are in your Applications folder and can be removed by dragging to the trash and emptying the trash. I would follow that up by restarting your computer. They should no longer appear in the EtreCheck report after you do that.

Check the Weather app to see if that resolves the problem. If that does not help, then we would need to look more closely at your Locations Settings. I see you have the Weather app allowing the location, but what about System Services in the Location settings, are those all turned on as well?

I don't know what you mean by "it tool it off."

You have two options that I see. You can do as has been suggested here and possibly have this working right now. Or, you can wait for an update that probably won't fix your specific problem. I don't understand why you would post here for help if you won't take the advice.
