How can I skip to a new line when entering text on iMac when using Numbers app

Is there a way to skip to a new line when entering text?

Do you mean like this:




use option-return to insert a return within the cell.

what do you mean by this?


You can use Option-return within a formula to break the formula into multiple lines. This can often make complex formulas easier to read since our brain logically breaks functions into steps based on the line breaks, e.g.:



which is, for most people, easier to read than:



but I don't see why this would add 4 blank lines to your formula, or the result.
