safari problems since updating to ios26

I really wish I hadn’t updated to ios26. I am having recurring problems with Safari - when I have a few tabs open, on trying to go into one I either get a blank page (the webpage address I previously used has disappeared) and/or the whole screen flickers and anything on the page cannot be read.

Does anybody else have similar problems?

iPad Air, iPadOS 26

I too have seen multiple issues with Safari under iPadOS 26/26.0.1.

Try clearing your cached website data from iPad settings:

Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data

As is, periodically clearing cached website data may help. Hopefully, a future update will resolve the underlying problem.

In the meantime, Apple invites submission of comments and bug reports via its Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:

Feedback - iPad - Apple

When submitting your report, ensure that you include your iPad model and installed version of iPadOS within the body of your report. Don't rely upon the pick-list alone - as this rarely includes the most recent models and versions.

Otherwise, you might consider seeking assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:
