Crashing Pages - turn off animation?

I get macOS Pages crashes every few times I use it with complex documents (it's an old problem, I've had it on previous machines and OS versions). Crash analysis says "Crash occurred on the main thread while Pages was performing an animated scroll operation. During this operation, NSViewHierarchyInvalidateVisibleRect detected that a view had a cached visible rect when it shouldn't have"

I think I get this more than most because I often use Pages in a portrait oriented display. So atypically large scroll areas. The ai suggested I try turning on "reduce motion" in Accessibility to reduce scrolling animations.

Anyone else know any mitigations? Any experience with "reduce motion"?
