Lost AirPods, can’t remove from Find My

I lost my AirPods and made peace with that, but:

I can’t remove the lost AirPods from my Find My app.

I try to delete the item from the Find My app and the Cloud with login and password and it doesn’t delete it no matter what I try.

When I click on the lost AirPods within Find My app it says:

Sound pending

Will play when connected

Play sound

connecting….

Settings

Remove

when I click on remove and enter login, it then behaves and scrolls as if it’s doing the action of removing the item but it doesn’t. It just goes back to the device page and it still appears there as if nothing has happened.

help me remove this because my ocd can’t allow to have a device that I no longer access on Find My.
