Apple Support - Search Fails to Find Recent Community Posts

Hi. This has been going on for a long time, and I cannot understand it.

When using Apple’s Support area and Exploring Support - Search Support, the only Apple Support Communities threads ever found are from 2022 and earlier! Surely this cannot be the intended behavior.

Yup. When I need to find threads, I just use search engine operators, like:

site:discussions.apple.com query

For exact keywords:

"query"

For date ranges:

before:YYYY-MM-DD or after:YYYY-MM-DD

Good day, sberman,

To clarify for others, we are looking at Support Search, not Community Search

Support search has been odd for quite a while. There are so many Apple product groups now that it is hard to get a return for some consumer topic searches.

Once, you could narrow the scope of any support search with a generous choice of product/topic filters, such as iPhone, macOS, Pad, etc. That is gone, likely sacrificed at the Altar of Minimalist Design. Now we have only these overly-general filters:

The last year or two I get far too many hits for Apple's initiatives like Business Manger and School Manager that crowd out end-user topics. A filter to at least limit hits to consumer products and issues would be a big improvement.

Like -Bubba-, I find myself more often using a site-delimited web search than Apple Support's internal search. That should not be necessary IMHO.

All that said, and in complete agreement with your observations, there is probably a better place to post this valid concern. Web design and functions outside of ASC does not fall under the aegis of our amazing Hosts. I would suggest you also use this link:

Apple Website Feedback

which may get this issue closer to someone involved in that area.
