I’m locked out of my IPhone and when I put my key in, it’s wrong, can I back up my phone using my IPad

No, sorry. You can't back up an iPhone through or using your iPad. If you don't know the correct passcode for your iPhone, you'll have to erase it using your computer, then restore the most recent backup you have, assuming you have one. If you haven't backed up your iPhone, it's too late when something goes wrong and any data not already backed up or at least synced with iCloud will be lost.
