FaceTime not working on iPhone

Hi, my FaceTime is turned on in settings, but when I try to make a call in iMessages the button is grayed out. I can’t receive calls either. this is only a problem on my iPhone because I can make and receive FaceTime calls on my iPad and MacBook.
