Remove formula but keep hyperlink

I've created a formula to remove text from the contents of a cell that includes a hyperlink.

Example:

A1 contents: Chelonoidis abingdonii (Abingdon island giant tortoise)

Formula in B1: =IFERROR(LEFT($A1,FIND(" (",$A1)−1),$A1)

B1 contents: Chelonoidis abingdonii

However, the formula is still present in B1. I've tried to remove the formula using: Copy->Paste, Copy->Paste and Match Style, and Copy->Paste Formula Results. In all cases, the function is removed, but the hyperlink is also lost.

I've searched the community and online and cannot find a solution. Has anyone else run into this problem and found a solution?
