I’m trying to find a way to disable the audio ducking (automatic volume lowering) that happens whenever a notification comes in. I understand that I can put my phone in Silent mode to avoid it, but I still want to hear notification sounds, just without them reducing the volume of whatever I’m listening to.
If there’s no way to change this, I’ll resort to silent mode,

That's how it works. Volume is reduced momentarily when a notification comes through and there is no setting to change that. I'm not sure why you have an issue with this? If you were for example listening to music at a loud volume, you'd likely not hear a notification if the volume of what you're listening to wasn't momentarily lowered for you to hear you have a notification.

I understand what you want. You need to understand that what you want isn't an option. Arguing what you want here, on this user to user only forum, where no one works for or is in any way associated with Apple won't get you anywhere. We can't add or change features to iPhone. As for hearing the notification, I’m perfectly able to distinguish between different sounds, especially given that we already have a separate ringtone and alerts volume slider.
