Apple TV+ shows and Purchases aren’t accessible

Try to launch a show or movie from Apple TV+ including purchases - after troubleshooting for connectivity which it shows Internet Connected but then produces the error message “Unable to Connect. There’s a problem connecting for playback. Try again later.” It’s been going on for over 3 hours now.
