Dead keys with diacritical marks produce doubled output in Google Docs.

When set for Portuguese (Brasil), the key marked for the apostrophe on a US keyboard becomes a dead key for the ~ mark. Normally, if I press the ' key, the ~ appears on screen. If I then press the a key, I see ã. This is the expected behavior, and it always used to work properly in all contexts including Google Docs.

Now, however, it works properly everywhere else, but within Google Docs it produces a doubled character.

That is, I press the key with the ' mark and a ~ appears on screen. If I then press the a key, ãã appears on screen.

This change in the behavior of Google Docs began with an upgrade from Sequoia 16.6, which also had the effect of upgrading Safari to 26.0.1.

The behavior is normal in Firefox, so I guess that's a workaround.
