Touch ID no longer unlocks my Mac with OS 26

Touch ID works for most functions like filling passwords, but it no longer unlocks my Mac. It will unlock with my Apple Watch, but I have to monkey with the watch to make that happen. This was not a problem until I installed OS 26.

This is an issue reported by others. Sometimes deleting and re-adding a fingerprint helps. Some have found waiting 20 seconds helps (but is not a great workaround).
