Can I set an automatic font size for footnotes?

I have a curious problem for IOS Pages: Three weeks ago, whenever I made a footnote, the font size of the footnote would be smaller than the font size of the text, which made perfect sense. Suddenly, that has now changed. It is now the same as the font size of the document.

I don’t know why this change has happened. Perhaps someone has an answer.

This raises the question: Can I stipulate a footnote font size for all new documents?

Pages will use the original font and font size of the footnoted body text in the footnote itself.

Although you can manually alter the font and fontsize of the selected footnote text, there is no provision to establish default attributes (font, fontsize, etc.) for the footnote text.
