Os Tahoe : "Accessories" tab missing in Privacy & Security

Hi everyone,

I’m running macOS Tahoe (build 25A362) on an Apple Silicon iMac, and I’ve noticed that the "Accessories" tab in System Settings > Privacy & Security doesn’t appear, even when I connect a non-Apple USB device.

I’ve tested with a VIA Labs USB2.0 Hub, which shows up correctly in ioreg, but no tab appears to manage permissions. I’ve also tried rebooting with the device plugged in, checking for MDM profiles (none), and resetting accessory permissions via Terminal — nothing worked.

This tab used to appear in Ventura and Sonoma when third-party USB accessories were connected. Has anyone else experienced this issue on Tahoe?

Is it a known bug?

Thanks in advance for any insights or workarounds!

There have been multiple reports of some USB audio interfaces not being recognized by Tahoe (while others are). I do not recall anyone coming to a conclusion about the 'fault', whether it's macOS or the firmware for the device. They typically do not require drivers from the manufacturer, but if yours has drivers then that's the place to start, check the manufacturer's website.

Best course of action at this point would be to report the issue to both Apple (Feedback - macOS - Apple) and to the manufacturer of your interface.

The user by-line iMac 24″, macOS 26.0 , corroborates what @Barney-15E has mentioned visa vie " only laptops "

When you eliminated the " VIA Labs USB2.0 Hub " from this configuration

Does the " third-party USB accessories " show up in System Information

In my case the 128 GB USB Thumb Drive that is directly connected to the computer

It shows up in the Storage Category of System Information

Other Accessories may should up elsewhere
