Notes App's Font Color Formatting Defect in Tahoe 26.0.1

Macbook Pro 2021 14" running OS Tahoe 26.0.1

After upgrading to Tahoe and opening the Notes app to view my Notes docs, I see that there's a software defect. All my white fonts in Notes have been converted to black (which makes reading them on a black background problematic).

Trying to remedy this isn't easy as I use different text colors to refer to different subjects ... going through line b y line laboriously and redoing different colored text throughout my docs would be a Herculean task.

After playing around I've found that within the Notes application's font formatting window the black and white font colors are reversed, i.e. if I select text in a Notes doc and apply the color 'black' in the font formatting window the color white is applied to the selected text; conversely selecting the 'white' color in the font formatting window changes the selected text to black.

Does anyone else experience this?

Is there a fix?

Thanks a bunch.
