Mac OS Tahoe Update 26.0.1 MacBook Pro is asking for a password to install update.

Mac OS Tahoe Update 26.0.1 on my MacBook Pro is asking for a password to install update. I don't have password login enabled. Any feedback would be appreciated. Why is it asking for a password, I have never been asked for passwords to install previous software updates.

You may not use your password to log in, but you have a password.

Follow the steps here (carefully, there are many of them with 'If..." so pay attention to the instructions):
