Adding the Peacock bundle to Apple One Premier Subscription

I’m an Apple One Premier subscriber and I have tried to take advantage of the new deal with NBC Universal to add a discounted Peacock subscription. OMG… Apple should be ashamed of themselves for how painful this process has been. I went through the process on my Apple TV device, no option for me as a premier subscriber. I went through Subscriptions on my iPhone, no option for Peacock, I went through the Apple TV app and found the option, which I added, and was charged $19.99 for the new bundle. No credit for the existing Apple One subscription. I opened up subscriptions on my iPhone and was notified that I had conflicting (overlapping) subscriptions for Apple TV. I canceled the new Peacock bundle but am stuck paying the $20 for the month. In short, this has been the worst Apple experience I’ve ever had in many years of being an Apple customer. This is a very poorly executed collaboration between Apple and NBC for existing Apple TV subscribers. I’m now stuck with no idea how to get the new bundle and would not recommend this service to anyone.

I also have an Apple One Premier subscription and a Peacock Premium Plus subscription (via Apple). Couldn’t figure out how to bundle the Peacock to the Apple One. What finally worked was to let my Peacock Premium Plus subscription expire. A couple of days later (today actually) I renewed my Peacock Premium Plus subscription and was offered the bundle price of $11/mo. Easy peasy and all is well.

Again, my original subscription was through Apple and not through Peacock. Maybe that’s the difference.

I did not have an issue switching my account to the Apple bundle. Here is what I did in case it helps someone.

I was subscribed to Peacock and billed by them directly. In the Apple TV app, on an Apple TV, there was a banner saying Peacock Premium Plus is $11.99 for Apple One Premier subscribers. I clicked on the banner and subscribed to Peacock. I went to peacocktv.com/account/plans and had 2 active subscriptions so I canceled the old one. I checked my Apple subscriptions and confirmed I am being billed the correct amount.

Upon reading other accounts of these difficulties, I first cancelled my current Peacock subscription upon some advice that it would be difficult to do so AFTER combining the new Peacock deal with my current Apple One subscription.

So, I then tried multiple attempts to add Peacock, exhausted the patience I thought was reasonable for this purpose and have basically said screw it. I'll go without Peacock until I decide to take up this goose chase again. Why it takes any more than three click-through steps I have no idea.

Similar thing here. I already have Apple One and logged into Peacock on my AppleTV device not even realizing the two services had started a partnership. To my pleasant surprise the Peacock app on my AppleTV device offered me the Premium Plus subscription at the discounted rate of $11.00 because I already have Apple One. So I subscribed. I even got a confirmation email from Apple. But when I try to watch anything on Peacock it says I have to upgrade. It's like Apple acknowledged the subscription but Peacock did not. So I cancelled it and gave up but I'm still out the $11.00. Did anyone at either company actually test this before rolling it out?

Resolved- i’m jumping on to close the loop as the OP to explain how this turned out. About a month after I first tried to subscribe, I was finally able to go in through the Apple App Store, click on the Peacock app, thumb through the special offers, find the Apple bundle and it showed the discounted rate with a note “You're Saving as a Apple One Subscriber” - there was also finally an active subscribe button.

I went through the process and saw the subscription show up in my iPhone under subscriptions at the non-discounted rate. At first I was really annoyed, but I waited a few days until it charged my credit card and the charge came through correctly (discounted). So it still looks like it is billing at the higher rate under Subscriptions, but it’s not.

I think the main points are that you need to go to Peacock in the Apple App Store-I did it on my iPhone. Thumb through the promo panels to find the Apple bundle promotion and check to verify that you’re seeing that same message about getting a discount. Follow the process and then just verify that your credit card is getting charged the discounted rate even though it won’t show up correctly under subscriptions on your iPhone. I’m not sure Peacock is worth the hassle, but I guess it’s nice to have and I appreciate the sports and special event streams.
