Spotlight results awful after Tahoe upgrade

Hello,

ever since I installed the update (Tahoe 26.0.1 (25A362)), Spotlight results have been awful. One specific thing which is bothering me is that I can't exclude documents from search.

I have turned the documents off, I have turned every single thing within documents (i) section off, I have reindexed Spotlight, but results are still cluttered.

I have 2 MBPro's, and same thing is on both.

Is there any way I can fix this?

I have reindexed Spotlight,

How did you do that?

When the index is corrupt, the GUI method usually doesn't work. You can erase the entire folder and start it over using Terminal,

sudo mdutil -X /

sudo temporarily elevates your privileges and will ask for an admin password. You will type it into the window, but won't see anything repeated back on the screen.

In Tahoe, Apple has remove the requirement to restart after that command, but I still recommend logging out and back in or Restarting.

It is possible you have some file it is choking on causing the corruption. I don't have any experience trying to resolve that problem, though.
