My iPhone is sharing my location to Contacts without my initiating it.

My iPhone shared my location with a contact and I didn’t become aware of it until they texted me later and I could see it on the communication section. I did not initiate the sharing of my location with this contact. I double checked my Find My app, just to be sure. I’ve checked everywhere on my IPhone, and cannot find how this could’ve happened. How do I prevent this from happening again?
